Governance is part of the product

Market Accord handles commercially sensitive questions, emerging businesses, professional volunteering, possible public procurement, participant evidence and public interpretation. A compelling mission does not remove those risks.

The governance system defines which decisions may be made, who owns them, what must be recorded, where commercial interests are disclosed and when a project must pause or stop.

Governance framework

Nine published controls

Each control has a dedicated page or policy, responsible decision point and correction route.

Public-interest charter

Defines purpose, beneficiaries, principles, exclusions and the duty to publish limitations.

Read charter

Procurement integrity

Controls preliminary market engagement, competition, conflicts and separation from live bid work.

Read protocol

Research and anonymity

Separates participation, consent, data use, case permission, anonymisation and publication.

Read protocol

Commercial boundaries

Discloses funding, sponsorship, commissions, connected parties and Bid Champions services.

Read transparency page

Venture transparency

Requires the actual legal operator, responsibility, data and experience attribution to remain visible.

Read pilot controls

Badge licence

Defines status, permitted claims, verification, review, suspension, revocation and misuse.

Decision gates

Every project can be stopped.

  1. Fit: does the question serve the purpose and affected parties?
  2. Responsibility: is the legal operator and delivery owner clear?
  3. Integrity: could the project distort a procurement or hide an interest?
  4. Safety and ethics: are risks, consent and affected users addressed?
  5. Capability: can the project be supervised and delivered responsibly?
  6. Evidence: will the records support the intended conclusion?
  7. Publication: can learning be released without disproportionate harm?
  8. Review: should the project proceed, change, pause or stop?

Planned maturation

Independent challenge grows with exposure.

During the founding phase, named internal leads and external specialist review may be used per project. As participant volume, funding and risk grow, Market Accord intends to establish an advisory panel with buyer, supplier, user, data, standards and public-interest representation. No such independent board is claimed as live today.

Challenge the governance.

Questions, conflicts, omissions and credible concerns are welcome. Use the correction route for content and the complaints route for conduct or process.
